Hot Tub in Spain - Check list

The designs and shapes of the latest Hot Tubs  continues to evolve at quite a pace with manufacturers introducing more and more features and ideas in order to catch the public's imagination.

For example having a massage sequencer in your Hot Tub will allow you to be able to control the placement of Jet Patterns, and their speed so that you can easily pinpoint the area of your body to massage. These massage systems can provide a stair step massage not unlike having your very own personal masseuse to direct which muscles and tendons to massage.

This type of feature is often known as a wave massage system and a seat, which has this feature, is designed to give a full massage to the shoulders, full back, thighs, calves and feet. This  lounger seat will usually have in excess of some fifty Jets to  provide a pulsating wave massage which works its way down your body at one to two rows at a time moving from ones neck right down to ones toes. This lounger seat will probably have something like seven function programmable controls, which will provide seven massage patterns at various variable speeds over your body.

1. Do you want to use your spa just for hydrotherapy and hydro massage and to help  relieve the stress and strain of life and provide that much needed solace or do you want to use it for fun and relaxation with your family or is it a combination of these two,

2.  When you actually use the Hot Tub for the majority of the time, how many people will use it, for example, is it just for two or perhaps five to six or more?  Obviously, this is a very key question in deciding the model that you choose.

3. Will you entertain your friends and family and have guests round to enjoy and share use the spa and if you will, what is the maximum number you will have in your spa at one time?

4. What is the average size and height of the people who will use the Hot Tub are there big differences in height between the shortest and the tallest?

5. How often will the Hot Tub be used perhaps twice a day or just once every day or just two to three times a week?

6. What time during the day or evening will the Hot Tub be used. This will possibly be very different at a weekend or holiday season. ?

7. What approximate budget do you have and here it is good to have a price range so that you can consider a choice of two or three models.  Remember of course that it is not just the purchasing the Hot Tub but there is also the cost of delivery and having it installed.

8. How much are you prepared to budget for actually running your spa on a weekly basis after it has been installed? You will need to allow for electricity for the pumps and heater but also there will be some spending on water treatment chemicals and that kind of thing,

9. How much time are you prepared to spend looking after the Hot Tub and keeping the water balance maintained correctly?

10. How much physical space do you have available for the Spa? Bear in mind that you will need to get access for servicing or maintenance.

11. What is the access like to get and place a Hot Tub in your chosen location?

12. Is there good and clear access to all sides of the Hot Tub at your intended position or will some sides be inaccessible, (next to a wall etc.) or will you wish to sink the Hot Tub into a decked area.

13. If you wish to place the Hot Tub on a roof terrace you need to consider as to whether the terrace is able to take the weight of a filled  Spa and say four adults.

14. Is a crane needed to install the Hot Tub  perhaps on a roof terrace or over a house or Villa to get access to the back garden?

Benefits of a Hot Tub in Spain for Hydro Massage

Benefits of a Hot Tub in Spain for Hydro Massage

This is a fantastic way to get the water therapy that you need and refresh your mind and body and get the respite that you deserve from your Hot Tub. The physical properties of water make it a very helpful medium in which to exercise to treat muscle, neck and back pain. The advantages that water provides to help with Hydro massage and Hydrotherapy is related to the Buoyancy and Viscosity effect of water. Buoyancy - The flotation effect of water helps to counter balance gravity to a limited degree and helps to support your body weight and this can be controlled by using different massage seats in the Hot Tub.

This semi buoyancy can be a support to the development of improved balance and strength and some simple exercises such as stretching and flexing could be carried out. Jets – On a well made our Hot Tub the Jets will be Interchangeable and completely adjustable - Turn on and off – Total water control - A wide variety of Hydro therapy zones.

This interchangeable jet system allows you to control the flow of water pressure and the type of massage you will get at each and every seating area in the spa. Other Hot Tubs & Spas have fixed high pressure jets that may give you a stinging and itching type of massage and may not penetrate deep enough to allow you to get the relief you need & deserve. Avoid spas that have a large number of fixed jets so that you can change jets in your spa as your therapy needs change. Viscosity - Water naturally provides resistance by means of gentle friction and this coupled with a mixture of pressure provided by warmed Water and Air Jets allows one to strengthen and improve the condition of aches and pains , while reducing the risk of further injury due to loss of balance.

Hydrostatic pressure - there are powerful effects produced by hydrostatic pressure that improve heart and lung function, making some gentle exercise a very useful way to maintain and strengthen heart and lung function. This pressure effect also aids in improving muscle blood flow. Together, these properties allow for treatment of aches & pains but due to the buoyancy effect it allows you to reduce the weight placed on the body while stretching in the Hot Tub. For example, individuals with osteoarthritis in the neck and shoulder could practice arm circles or shoulder rolls in water to improve their range of motion and strength. Because the water provides both mild resistance and support through buoyancy, the person would most likely not experience the pain caused when a tired arm drops suddenly, as it can do at the end of other exercises.

Also the concept of pain may be substantially reduced a result of many factors including the relaxing sounds as well as the warmth of the water provided by the Hot Tub often making this a very pleasurable experience. Also the buoyancy effect of the water allows a wider range of positions in the Hot Tub due to the semi weightless effect of the water.

Best Spas in the world

The best Hot Tub spas in the world are those that are Engineered for strength beauty & easy maintenance

Most spas look great in the showroom but it is of course essential to ask the the very important question how will the hot tub look in a few months or indeed a few years. For this very reason  not only do you need to consider the inner workings of  the spa or as I would call it the gubbins you will want to consider the material that is used for the shell.

Probably The best spas in the world are made with a patented four layer strengthening process call Dura-Bond ™. This exclusive system combines the acknowledged beauty of Lucite-Xtra ™ Acrylic with a layer of ABS for shell strength and integrity. Then the maker of the best spas in the world add a layer of double strengething material Dura-Bond ™. This high density material is re-inforced with a fibrous chop  materiall  that adds very considerable additional strength to the Spa Shell. The process is completed with a thick layer of polyurethane foam.

Lucite-Xtra ™ cast acrylic is a non porous material that resists stains like the build up of lotions and body oils which can ruin non- acrylic spas. This tough material keeps it shine and colour despite the use of sanitizing chemicals , high temperatures and exposure to sunlight. Its durable surface resists chipping, cracking an denting. Lucite-Xtra ™ is easily maintained with a sponge and mild soap. No additional polishing or waxing is needed to keep its lustrous appearance.

Hot Tub in Spain - Ideas

Ideas  for a Hot Tub in Spain

There is a very considerable choice when it comes to choosing a Hot Tub Spa as sizes vary considerably as regards how many people they can accommodate.

For example there are some that are just small enough for two to three people. Then there are some that will seat eight and others that can seat four to five people and those that can seat five to six. These can be big enough for ones family and friends or indeed suitable for just a couple.

A typical two seater would be say 81" long and 55" wide with a depth of 30" or in metric terms 2.06M x 1.4M with a depth of 0.75M. This Hot Tub would hold some 190 gallons of Water (US) or say 720 Litres. This type of Hot tub would probably have something in the range of 12 to 18 Jets with a two speed 2HP motor with a 2HP air blower.

Moving up to say an Octagonal Shape a typical size would be 80" by 80" with a depth of 34". This would have the same pump configuration as the two seater referred to above but would accommodate 6 people and have a larger water capacity of some 400 US Gallons or 1,500 Litres.

One of the most popular types is a five seater with one lounger usually say a size of 82" by 80" with a depth of 32" and some times you can get a deeper version with a depth of 40" or again in Metric it would be some 2.08M x 2.01M with a depth of 0.79M and for the deeper version the depth would be just over one Metre. The standard size would hold some 400 Gallons US (1,500 Litres) and the Deeper Tub Some 425 Gallons US (1,600 Litres).

You can also get a designer shaped spa with a stretch lounger that will take five people and with a size of 79" by 73" it's slightly smaller than the one immediately above and you can see that in the water capacity is smaller at 300 US gallons or some 1,135 Litres.

Also as one moves up the scale in the terms of cost you get more and more extras like a waterfall and neck / collar jets. This kind of size of Tub would have a 2 speed 5 HP motor and a 2 HP air blower.

In a brief article I can only highlight a few ideas or choices so I have restricted this to just a few hot Tubs obviously the choice is pretty wide. In another article I will expand on some of the more exotic Hot Tubs with 98 and a 130 Jets and an underwater perimeter lighting system coupled with a 200 watt sound system that injects the Sound into the water coupled with additional speakers for the patio / terrace.

Now one of the key questions has to be how one chooses the right Hot Tub. Well the answer in simple terms is to go out and try one. As I have explained above the choice is very wide Some Hot Tubs offer multi-level seating for people of different body types. Some feature comfortable built-in loungers. It's important to choose the Hot Tub that matches what suits your own idea of perfect relaxation

Selecting a Luxury Hot Tub in Spain

Ideas for choosing a Luxury Hot Tub in Spain

There is a fantastic choice when it comes to selecting a Hot Tub Spa as sizes vary considerably as regards how many people they can accommodate and this article is going to cover some of the larger sizes and more specialist features that are available. Every spa is made of several basic components: a shell with jets, a cabinet, air injectors, and water pump(s). The question to ask is how well has the Spa manufacturer carefully engineered these components so that they work together.

A spa made by a leading manufacturer probably with at least 40 years of experience like QCA Spas of IOWA USA will have models where the components work together, which leads to outstanding hydrotherapy . You can enjoy a vigorous or soothing massage – with the ability to customize your massage to suit your mood. Since hydrotherapy is very much a personal experience, the better made spas are designed with adjustable controls and innovative options.

Leading manufacturers adopt technically advanced systems and American computer controls which enables maximum performance from the pumps, heaters and blowers to give you the best aqua flow to provide an excellent Hydro Massage. Jets are scientifically placed to deliver the flow of water to your body's pressure points, while allowing you to control the intensity.

There is scientific proof of the benefits of hydrotherapy. Not only does it relieves stress, but it promotes healing, reduces muscle tension, increases circulation and speeds recovery. A soak in a Hot Tub is not just relaxing - it is therapeutic. You will find that nothing compares with the rejuvinating effects of a total body hydromassage. The warm soothing water and the feeling of bouyancy ease away your pain and stress and provide you with the respite you so richly deserve.

Leading manufacturers use state of the Art Spa Technology quite often using Balboa Controls who are acknowledged as being one of the best in the field. I speak with experience having telephoned them a couple of times and their response is second to none. Not only do they respond to telephone calls but they answer emails with in a very short term indeed. Based on my experience of dealing with balboa I would buy a spa with Balboa Controls with out a shadow of a doubt. With out Balboa I would not buy a spa period...

Some Spas have built in sound systems and there is one leading spa which has a 200 watt stereo sound system with sub woofer and speakers built into the water. Not only does this produce superior sound it obviously allows you to feel and experience the sound through the water. This produces not only a fantastic and enriched sound but it adds another dimension to your massage. These packages also include separate speakers for the Patio or the Terrace.

Many spas have lights and a great lighting effect whereby you can change the colour and indeed get a disco effect if you wish. However some luxury spas offer the option of perimeter lighting where by they have lights all round the outside of the spa underwater of course. These are often LED lights and are brighter and more reliable than fibre optics. Led lighting is used in vehicle for their rear lights and may last up to ten years. In a spa they can provide a fantastic cascade of colour lighting up a waterfall, top rails and underwater spas seats. Drift away in a luxury high powered luxury spa. If you have the Maximum amount of jets and features incorporated into a Spa with jets deliver a soothing massage to relieve those tired, stressed muscles. Relax and listen to the tranquil Hot Tub  waterfall as it soothes your troubles away.

Marbella Hot Tubs - Buying

Marbella Hot Tubs - Buying

You should aim to buy a Marbella Hot Tub with a good base, obviously one that is able to survive the climate and one that will not rot away with exposure to heat, sun and water and, of course, it has to be impervious to any little beasties like wood-boring termites and that kind of thing.

Products from major North American, European and British Australasia such as New Zealand would fit that category.

We come across Hot Tubs that people change after say 5/10 years and the better made models stand out head and shoulders above the others.

The cheaper ones made by lesser known brands and perhaps by large conglomerates who have lost the passion (if they ever had it ) for the product show serious signs of wear and tear where as the better brands often have many years life left in them and can be refurbished and resold.

Also a Marbella Hot Tub should have sound structural insulation and be designed so that the natural rising heat is automatically retained so that most of the heat generated from the pump(s) during routine filtration and that which is used to power the jets is captured in the spa cabinet so that it may passively heat the water and the air which is introduced in to the Spa either via air or water Jets. What a clever use of a limited resource.

Some systems can be up to 60% more efficient than Hot Tubs that are made using the full foam system. More often than not a full foam spa takes in cold air from outside of the spa through the heat vent and introduces it into the water thereby reducing your water temperature and creating discomfort. The heat generated by the pump is vented to the outside and lost. Avoid full foam spas as they may cost more to operate and repair. It is very difficult to find a leak beneath layers and layers of foam.

Make sure that the Hot Tub you consider uses quality computer controllers with custom built in electronics and automatic built in safety features and economy modes of operation when and if required. It is very useful to be able to have a sleep and economy mode as well as a standard mode. I would take it for granted that any spa has freeze protection built in to the controller so that the heater would spring into action with in a certain temperature range of say 4 degrees c so as to ensure that no damage happens to the SPA.

Balboa a Californian based company is one that makes very good state of the art controls and their service and back up is second to none. Replying to emails in a few minutes and accessible on the telephone how many international service companies can fulfill that criteria. The ones that I know I can count on the fingers of my left hand.

The top manufacturers utilize the best controller manufacturers in the world to create custom spa packs and topside controls to complement their spa models. These have built in features that make it so much easier dealing with a spa

These user-friendly intuitive controls take the guesswork out of spa ownership and are designed for a lifetime of use in harsh climates.

Avoid spas with air controls or spas that do not display the hot tub temperature as a digital read out.

Many spas are produced cheaply by using an inferior quality spa electronic pack.

Unknown brand names or bulk imported packs may not stand the test of time and may be very hard to replace if they break down.

The best advice is to buy a proven product from a reputable manufacturer and not a cheap import that way you have proven expertise tested over many years combined with the back up of a Major Western Corporation

Hot Tubs & Spas in Spain - Problems

Hot Tubs in Spain - Problems

A day in the life of a Hot Tub specialist somewhere on the Costa del Sol

The phone rang one Saturday morning in our Estepona Showroom "can you look at my Hot Tub Spa please it doesn't work".

We go through the usual pleasantries - how long as he had the Spa – about two years - what make is it - does it have good controls that I recognize like for example Balboa and then the potential client tells me that he wasn't very happy with the original sale in the first place.

On no account will he go back to the original supplier if he could find him which he cannot.

It's a Spa from a Major American maker a bit dated in my view from the design point of view but a perfectly good product never the less and more than adequate for the its intended purpose.

On the telephone we can get a good idea of what might be the problem and it would appear that at this stage the Spa has no power and my sense is that it is possibly a mains electrical fault of some kind. The Juice is not getting through for what ever reason

So with my pal Ulf (a Swede) we go for a drive in to the country to see the Hot Tub.

When we get there the first thing I notice is that against the maker's instruction and best practice there is no breaker switch accessible to turn off the electricity.

There is a breaker but it has been fitted INSIDE the spa and is then behind a locked door requiring a key. So if there was a requirement to switch off the spa in a hurry or for what ever reason the breaker just not where it should be.

We move on some simple checks and surprise the spa is not earthed? The house does not seem to be earthed!!! Well this is Spain. But this House has been rewired on the last two / three years BUT NO EARTH!!!

We turn every thing off and open the breaker. The blue wires are the wrong size to carry the load they are to small and the colour has changed from blue to black as they were getting close to ignition. The ceramic part of the broker has started to go brown as it was close to ignition. It smelt like an incendiary device it had clearly been getting very hot and close to ignition. The Breaker that had been supplied was of the wrong size as was the cables.

The spa company had just dropped off the spa and said here is your spa and we have a local electrician coming tomorrow to wire it up. He probably did a good job but was not briefed or trained on the project. A bit like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand does.

We got an independent electrician in to Earth the Spa and rewired the Spa as required with proper sized cables.

The Moral of the Story when it comes to Hot Tubs & Spas deal with the professionals

Hot Springs in Spain & in Roman Times & Modern Hot Tubs in Spain Today

Hot Springs in Spain & in Roman Times & Modern Hot Tubs  In Spain Today

Most people know the famous places where one could take the waters. In Belguim there is, of course, the famous Spa the place where the very word "Spa" comes from then in England you have Bath so aptly named.

Nearly all of Iceland has multi Hot Spring locations as there are also many in North America and Rotorua in New Zealand to name but just a few.

Turning to Hot Spring in Spain one of Spain's better-known hot springs in located in the beautiful Andalucian region of Malaga. In the foothills of the Sierras on a mountainside to the north of the Guadalhorce Valley is the spa village of Carratraca.

This is one of the famed ‘White Villages' of Andalucia, and Carratraca has been renowned for the curative properties of its sulphur-water springs for hundreds of years. The peak popularity of the village was during the 19th century, when the English poet Lord Byron was a frequent visitor. This ancient facility is constructed in the Roman tradition out of sandstone and marble.

Since time immemorial visitors have flocked to these places to take the waters, knowing full well that the effect will be to soothe aches and pains as well as providing the mental respite of escaping from the trials and tribulations of the stresses and strains of everyday life for a while.

Of course, the popularity of these hot springs comes at a price: sometimes they can get extremely overcrowded. Fortunately for those looking for a more private bathing experience, there are many more hot springs around. Some are located in out of the way places, known only to the locals; others are simply not as famous but are equally pleasant. Alternatively of course one can have their own Hot Spring in a Hot Tub Jacuzzi Spa in their own garden or on a patio or a roof terrace.

Now what is the one thing that these Hot Spring Spas from the past do not have - it is of course an electric Air Blower (after all in days of old electricity had not been discovered) which is often fitted on many modern day spas.

The basic idea of air coming out of those pepper pot independent air jets in a Hot Tub Jacuzzi or as in some spas cleverly combined and mixed with water to provide air blower therapy which helps to increase the blood circulation to your skin and Doctors that I have spoken to have confirmed this train of thought. . Our skin represents by far the largest component of our body which helps us to remove poisons and the like. When our skin is invigorated, naturally our overall health is improved and this helps to remove toxins from our body and has a direct result in increasing our personal vitality as our mind body & soul receive the rejuvenating treatment.

It is a well known medical fact that the lower legs, the Tibia & Fibia areas, between the knee and the feet and ankles are the longest distance from our hearts. That is why if you break your leg below the knee the "lower third" is the area which is the hardest to heal often needing bone grafts to get the healing process on its way. I speak with personal experience having spent more than a little time with my leg in traction with a broken femur and the leg below the knee in a plaster cast with a broken Tibia & Fibia. This lack of circulation is also why the ankles can get those blue looking spidery blood veins, and then of course our legs often get varicose veins.

Gravity and the actual weight of the blood circulating causes higher blood pressure and what is often referred to by Chinese Doctors and acupuncture specialists as "stagnant blood". Of course in reality there is no such thing as stagnant blood; rather it is blood which is circulating slowly and not circulating as fast as it should.

When one submerses their body into warm water the blood becomes more or less neutral in weight as it has a similar weight to water. The effect of this is to reduce the pressure on your legs and at the same time the effects of gravity pulling on the body are much reduced.

What is missing however is the blower therapy, which is specifically designed by doctors to increase blood circulation in your skin, legs and feet. The effect is very similar to taking a nice warm fluffy towel and gently wrapping and rubbing this around your body and legs a bit like being immersed in ones own massage cocoon.

A spa with an air blower does actually help to reduce those strange spidery blood veins that appear on ones feet and ankles. Use your air blower on your Hot Tub regularly to get the full benefit of your Hot Tub Spa.

Hot Tubs in Spain today and in Roman Timea

Hot Tubs in Spain today and in Roman Times

What benefits can a Hot Tub in Spain provide in today's modern society for stress relief?

One has only to go back to Roman times and note that of all the various leisure options available that bathing in hot water often using naturally heated water was one of the most important.

Clearly the Romans new that the beneficial effects of the water was helpful to their general well being.

This was very much a daily activity for men of all classes and indeed many women. Bathing today is considered a private activity carried out in the home but bathing in Rome was very much a communal activity carried out usually in public baths.

One had only to look at the Roman Baths that survive to see that in many ways they resemble the modern health spas although one imagines and hopes that they were less expensive. The acceptance of bathing as the main event in daily life belongs to the Roman way of doing things and at the height of the Roman Empire, the thermal baths embodied the ideal Roman way of urban life.

Although many wealthy Romans were able to set up a bath in their own town house or especially in their country villas, heating a various rooms or perhaps even an independent building especially for this purpose, even so these wealthy Romans would often attend the various public facilities in the towns and cities that existed throughout the Roman Empire. Small bathhouses, which might have been privately owned, were often public as they were open to the public for a fee which was usually quite reasonable. The large baths, were owned by the state and often covered the equivalent today of several city blocks. Fees for both types of baths were quite reasonable, and within the budget of most free Roman males.

Since the Roman workday began at sunrise, work was usually over at little after noon. About 2:00-3:00 pm, men would go to the baths and plan to stay for several hours of sport, bathing, and conversation, after which they would be ready for a relaxing dinner.

Today whilst you cannot go and enjoy a roman bath (well you can of course in Bath in the UK)you can still get a similar effect by Hydro therapy from a Hot Tub  Spa.

The clever combination of warm soothing water combined with massage and buoyancy delivers a sensation that not only relaxes the mind and body, but also helps to heal and soothe.

With an increased number of jets strategically placed in the Hot Tub  Spa for maximum benefit, each and every Hot Tub offers supreme therapeutic support in a carefree setting.

The Spa treatment Increases blood flow and aids circulation, reducing & relieving muscle strain, soreness, pressure and tension throughout your body.

Clearly something that the Romans were very well aware of. Calculated buoyancy (and a corresponding feeling of weightlessness) blends perfectly with swirling warm water to deliver a pleasant relaxing soak with healing properties.

In fact, you'll feel noticeably better in just 20 minutes using a modern  Spa.

Hydrotherapy can and does help. Not only do the warm , bubbling waters melt away tension and strain, but they also provide a gentle and effective massage - targeting your joints and muscles, helping you to a better night's sleep and helping to relieve the pain of arthritis and other muscle-related injuries. Safe, enjoyable and effective for the whole family, hydrotherapy and the health benefits of a  Hot Tub Spa  will help everyone enjoy an active lifestyle. To sustain and enjoy an active lifestyle you need to take care of yourself. Stretching, eating correctly and getting a good night's sleep are only part of the equation.

The use of a  Hot Tub & Spa will enable your muscles to relax and get some respite which is one of the keys to enjoying and sustaining physical activity.

Ideas for a Hydrospa Hot Tub in Spain

Hydromassage & Hydrotherapy are two concepts that you can only enjoy with a  Hydrospa in Spain Hot Tub.

The combination of warm water with, massage Jets and buoyancy helps to provide a pleasant sensation that not only is able to bring relief to muscles & joints but is also able to relax the mind and body.

Modern Hot tubs have an increased number of more powerful jets strategically placed for maximum benefit, every model offers supreme therapeutic support in a carefree setting. This helps to increase blood flow and aid circulation, reducing muscle strain and soreness, and helping to relieve pressure and tension throughout your body. Calculated buoyancy (and a corresponding feeling of weightlessness) blends perfectly with swirling warm water to deliver a relaxing soak with healing properties. In fact, you'll feel noticeably better in just 20 minutes.

Hydrotherapy & Hydro massage does help. Not only do the warm, bubbling waters help melt away tension and strain, but they also provide a gentle and effective massage - targeting your joints and muscles, promoting a better night's sleep and combating the pain of arthritis and other muscle-related injuries.

Safe, enjoyable and effective for the whole family, hydrotherapy and the health benefits of a Hot Tub will help everyone enjoy an active lifestyle.

To be able to sustain and enjoy an active lifestyle one needs to get regular exercise including stretching combined with a correct diet and getting a good night's sleep is only part of the equation.

Enabling your muscles to relax and get the required respite that they require is a big key to enjoying and sustaining physical activity.

Jet therapy - Jets do make a difference. The jets as each & every model has a wide variety of jets, specifically designed and positioned to deliver various forms of massage and relief. From vigorous to relaxing, neck to feet, the manipulation and multitude of jets provided enables one to be able to select the massage that exactly is right for you. You can focus the Jets on one particular area with a targeted, penetrating massage. Or enjoy a more general, jet action massage encompassing many muscles. The choice is yours; the feeling is undeniable. The Jets are all fully adjustable so you can get exactly the massage you want.

Aroma therapy Our sense of smell has a tremendous impact on our sense of well-being. Fragrances can conjure up visions & images of different places, landscapes, and fields in blossom, warm memories perhaps coupled with, and favourite foods - even desired moods. Without even opening our eyes, scent & its effect has the power to transport us to another time and place. Aromatherapy uses this principle to provide a soothing and beneficial escape from our everyday stress & strains, cares, worries or even responsibilities. Combining the Hydro massage relief with the relaxation of warm water and scented air, you will find yourself completely enveloped and of course be completely relaxed. Using aromatherapy it is possible to infuse billions of aromatic air bubbles into the water, you can choose your "destination" as easily as you choose your scent.

Hot Tub in Spain - How can it benefit you

How a Hot Tub in Spain can benefit you

For thousands of years warm water has been a great relief for many of the ailments that the rich fabric of life brings. In ancient Times in Egypt, Greece & Rome it was a very common practice to enjoy long hot soaks, not only was it considered to be a ritual but much more than that it was known to help bring relief from the very many aches and pains of life.

In those days there were small water pools which had warm water piped into them from natural hot springs. We still have those today but these usually smell of sulphur and are not always pleasant. The belief which I do not accept for one moment is that it is only natural hot springs that have any beneficial healing effect as the chemicals in these pools are supposed to have magical cures, but it is in fact just the warm water that does the trick! A modern Hot Tub with the latest fully adjustable water and air jets is in my view much superior to a natural hot spring.

A factory Hot tub I am afraid does not have the thousand year old setting but it is undoubtedly wonderful therapy, and the water is better for your skin. As soon as you immerse yourself in a Hot Tub and enjoy the warm spa water, it causes two very beneficial physiological events to take place in your body.

Firstly of these, which is a scientific fact, is that it makes the capillaries in the body to increase thereby providing an increased blood flow to through your body and of course to your skin. Naturally an increased blood flow blood means better circulation and of course with goes the life force that makes up the Human Body with the nutrients that we need to maintain life.

Secondly, it slightly increases your heart rate which adds to the increased blood flow throughout your whole body. As we are made up mainly by water something like in excess of 90% is water, the fluids in our bodies are neutral (or nearly neutral) in weight. Our fluids then identify with the water in the spa (natural buoyancy) which means that the pressure of gravity on our circulatory system is very much reduced. This has the effect of making the distance between your heart and your feet much less. Although in reality, of course, this is not the case.

The blood that the Chinese medicine doctor's call stagnant (really slow) is now able to move much more freely and it does so because of open capillaries (heat), and buoyancy (water).

There is however one very thing that one should do to get the full benefit and that is to let go and just relax. Then the beneficial benefits of Hydrotherapy and Hydro massage help to provide respite and healing. Simply the blood flow is now in your body and not in your head, and your mind can start to slow down and relax and be in a more peaceful state.

Sotogrande Hot Tubs

Sotogrande Hot Tubs

Sitting in my new Hot Tub in Sotogrande Spain on the Costa del Sol trying out a new model I really felt the effect of the soothing treatment of the warm water. Unfortunately I have had a problem with my right shoulder in that I have strained a tendon so it's an injury very similar to a frozen shoulder.

I have tried all sorts of things Heat, Frozen peas and packs of Ice (my thanks to those helpful people who let me have the ice packs) but the Hot Tub seems to have been the best so far. It has loosened up the shoulder considerably but I used it carefully as the water pressure can be strong.

I was very impressed by this Hot Tub it being a bit deeper than most so that the warm water easily engulfs one shoulders.

It's interesting how different people market Hot Tubs. Some say the magic words equal to 24 Jets so does that mean it does not have 24 jets but the vendor thinks it's equal to 24 Jets. Sounds a bit like bending the trade description in my book

Or to put it another way it's just gibberish - either it's got the number of jets or it does not. This is a very important point as prices of Hot Tubs have a direct relation to the number of actual jets as obviously the more jets - the more pipe work - the more labour and the more expensive they become. Well yes that's fair but what they do is when they say equal to 24 Jets its probably got only 8 Jets with 3 revolving jets built in so in reality 8 Jet Tub gets described as 24 and commands a 24 jet price. Hmmmmmmm

The other thing that stands out is that some makers make unbranded versions of their products. They tend to be cheaper made products made to lower standards and that's why they are unbranded the manufacturer does not want to admit that it's his product. Usually these are described with out reference to the power of the motors as are they usually considerably underpowered. Thats where big savings can be made by the manufacturer at the consumers expense.

You usually get what you pay for so less money can mean fewer features

When you start with the cheapest way to build spas (full foam), it is very much like day following night and can create a house of cards falling down more often than not as these Spas generally fall short in many other areas as well. A full foam spa also makes it more or less impossible to fix if it has a leak from with in the foam.

As with all things buy a product made by a well established manufacturer who has been making the product for some time.

Floatron in Spain

Floatron in Spain for Swimming pools & Hot Tubs

The idea behind the floatron concept is to simply combine solar electricity which is of course at low voltage to provide natural power with the process which creates no harmful by products during the ionization purification process.

What is ionization?

An ion is an atom or group of atoms that has lost or gained one or more electrons. An atom which has lost electrons acquires a positive charge and is known as a cation; an atom which has gained electrons has a negative charge and is called an anion. The process is called ionisation. Well I am sure we all know what that means.

The Floatron unit performs as a free-floating device with an advanced-alloy ultra pure ionizing electrode that suspends below the waterline. We have reports of many people using the Floatron even when they have a pool cover.

As sunlight is converted into electricity by the small light weight photovoltaic panel, the harmless low power current energizes an electrode, causing the release of mineral ions into the swimming pool’s surrounding water.

During an oxidation reaction, organic molecules are changed and dissolved metals are made no longer soluble. Interesting is it not that these processes were used at least as long ago as the Romans who put silver and copper coins in their water barrels to keep the water fresh. In America back in the days of the Wild West the wagon trains would keep silver and copper coins in their drinking water barrels to help purify the water. Even in British Naval History as Lord Nelsons ships of the line also put coins into water barrels to keep drinking water fresh.

The ionized water, referred to as mineralized water, safely, naturally, and efficiently eliminates growth of micro-organisms.

Nearly all North American & UK clients who have purchased floatron have had covers on their pools their feedback has been very positive with floatron? working well with the majority of covers cover that float directly on the water. There are two main choices firstly to open the cover enough to float the unit, or cut a 3 inch (~7cm) “X” into the cover which allows the electrodes to remain in the water while the sunlight receptor is exposed to the sun.

Chlorine, tends to lose its potency within hours of its application, also during hot summer conditions it usually experiences a rapid and substantial loss of its performance due to evaporation.

Unlike chlorine, mineral ions produced by the floatron do not evaporate into the ether and in deed these Ions and the Floatron become more effective during hot summer conditions. It is an acknowledged fact that in warmer or hotter outdoor temperatures Ionization process is greatly enhanced.

The use of Floatron is not restricted to Swimming pools they can be used in Hot Tubs also.
